Art in Ink Festival

Art in Ink Festival

UOB Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) jointly present the “Art in Ink Festival”, which underlines the dynamism and breadth of ink art in Hong Kong today. It is a platform to nurture local artistic talents and inspire the study and appreciation of Chinese art and culture, serving as a window into the contemporary expressions of Chinese ink art from a distinctly Hong Kong perspective. Visitors are welcome to participate in the Festival to celebrate Chinese ink art from 17 to 30 December 2022 at the Palace Academy located on the Lower Ground level (LG) of the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

The Festival’s exciting offerings include various free events and happenings at the Palace Academy. Visitors will enjoy the “2022 UOB Art in Ink Awards Winners” showcase and augmented reality (AR)-enabled interactive ink art experience. Talks, immersive ink animation, documentary screenings, and pop-up ink art stall can be accessed with online or onsite registration. The Festival offers a series of curated workshops. For example, the traditional Chinese ink painting workshops will be led by distinguished Hong Kong artists, such as Dr Chui Pui-Chee, Rebecca Hon, Rainbow Leung, Ling Pui Sze, Tony Ng, Frank Tang, and Jacky Tao. These workshops will provide participants invaluable opportunities to learn about different dimensions of Chinese ink art, from gongbi to experimental ink painting and collage. In addition, seal carving and printmaking workshops will demonstrate the relevance of ink art to our life today. Join us to experience the rich and diverse interpretations of ink as an artistic medium. Don’t miss out!
