Making Your Own Treasures: Brooches of Love (Family Workshop)

09.07.2023
11:00am – 1:00pm
Merit Hall

Jewellery not only expresses the wearer’s individual style, but also tells the stories of women through the ages in the precious stones and designs used.

In this workshop, participants will explore the symbolic language of jewellery design through a series of engaging mini-games and stories.

Children and their parents will enjoy a special family art experience together, creating their own unique brooch that signifies familial love and respect.

They will:

  • delve into tales of jewellery design and its pivotal role in female identity across different eras, drawing on examples from the exhibition “Cartier and Women”;
  • explore diverse materials including clay, aluminium wire, and more and craft their own brooch.

Suitable for families with children ages 5–12, this workshop requires each child to be accompanied by an adult. No additional ticket is needed for the accompanying adult. Each pair of participants (one child and one adult) will receive one set of materials to fashion one piece of jewellery.
