1. New acquisitions

The Museum has received generous donations from collectors in Hong Kong, providing a strong foundation for the development of its own collection. These include over nine hundred gold and silver objects from the Mengdiexuan collection of Mrs Betty Lo and Mr Kenneth Chu—the largest donation to the Museum to date. Drawn from one of the most important and representative collections in the world, the objects span over three thousand years, and include personal adornments and funerary wares from the Eurasian steppe, Tibet, and Mainland China.

Other notable donations include imperial porcelain wares of the Ming and Qing dynasties from the Huaihaitang collection of Mr Anthony Cheung and the Dawentang collection of Mr Lawrence Chan, Ming furniture from the Muquju collection of Grace Wu Bruce, and paintings from the collections of Mr Raymond Fung, Wu Cho Bun, and Mr Chie Hong Wu.

2. Art donations

As a new museum, the Hong Kong Palace Museum is committed to building a world-class collection of Chinese art. We welcome donations from both local and overseas donors.

3. Explore the Collection

The Museum’s collection already includes more than a thousand objects, including gold and silver wares, ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, furniture, and more. We are currently in the process of digitising the collection, so that it can be made available to the public on the Museum’s website.

The Hong Kong Palace Museum respects intellectual property rights and always seeks permission from copyright owners before publishing images and other media on the website. The reproduction, adaptation, distribution, dissemination or making available of any copyright content is prohibited, unless prior authorisation is obtained from the Museum or other rightsholders.
