Imperial Fencai Ceramic Workshop (Dish with Peaches and Bats)

28.07.2024 & 10.08.2024
Imperial Fencai Ceramic Workshop (Dish with Peaches and Bats)

Originated from the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, the elegant peach plate symbolises happiness and longevity. The pink blossoms are in full bloom with abundant fruits and red bats flying around the branches, exuding festivity and auspiciousness. Come and join us to make your own unique peach plate using the traditional ceramic glazing technique, Fencai.

This workshop includes:

  • An introduction to ceramics and the techniques involved.
  • A demonstration of how ceramics are glazed.
  • A hands-on session to create your own ceramic work.

Please note:

        • The plate shall be decorated with peach tree branches extending from the frontside to the backside, taking approximately 2.5 hours (intermediate skill level).
        • No prior experience is required.
        • Your ceramics will be fired and delivered to your address three weeks after the workshop. Further details will be announced during the workshop.
        • Exhibition Ticket Arrangement: This registration is for the captioned programme only. To visit our exhibitions, please click here.
