Coiling Pottery (Family Workshop)

05 & 19.10.2024
Merit Hall, Palace Academy

At the heart of Chinese pottery-making lies the coiling technique, one of the most traditional methods passed down through generations. Your children can unleash their creativity and create their own pottery.

This workshop includes:

  • An introduction to the different shapes and patterns used in pottery and coiling techniques.
  • A hands-on session for you to transform raw clay into a unique pottery, experimenting with different colours of clay slip to draw decorative patterns.

Please note:

  • Requiring no prior experience, this programme is suitable for children aged 6–12. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each child will receive one set of materials and take away a piece of artwork.
  • The participants’ work will be fired and delivered to their addresses three weeks after the workshop. Further details will be announced during the workshop.
  • Exhibition ticket arrangement: This registration is for the captioned programme only. To visit our exhibitions, please click here.
