“HKPM Jockey Club Education Programme: Architecture Unfolded” | “Central Axis Adventure” Board Game School Workshop

Students will step into the shoes of a town planner, to discover the wisdom and culture of traditional Chinese architecture through this board game.

What students will get from this workshop:

  • Learn from Play: Decorate and play an original board game incorporating elements of traditional Chinese culture.
  • Discover History: Gain an understanding of the intricate Chinese town planning and the sense of harmony conveyed through aesthetics of symmetry.
  • Get Creative: Work together in groups to design characters with playful imagination and explore significant palaces and buildings along Central Axis on the board game.

Hong Kong primary and secondary schools are welcome to register as groups. Please note that quota is limited; first come, first served.

 

Please note:

      • This workshop is suitable for P.3–S.3 students.
      • Each workshop session is designed for 90–120 participants. Priority will be given to school groups whose registration meets this capacity requirement.

Age Limit

The workshop is recommended for P.3 to S.3 students.

Remarks
  • Sharp tools will be used during the workshop.
  • The event is only available for Hong Kong local school groups.
  • The Museum will contact successful applicants within 14 working days to confirm the date and time of the visit. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email with details of the workshop.
  • Once the workshop session is confirmed, no changes or withdrawals will be accepted.
  • Please ensure there are sufficient teachers to accompany your students at the Museum. The recommended teacher-to-student ratio for primary and secondary school visits is 1:15.
  • Image consent: We may photograph, film, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and voice of any participants of the workshop and use the same for educational, media, or editorial purposes and may be used on the website, social media platforms, in publications, or as promotional materials used by the Museum and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will take place as scheduled.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will continue. If it cannot proceed as planned, rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
  • If the Education Bureau has announced class suspension due to inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
