28 May: Celebrating Women: Dancing from Aristocracy to Modernity, by The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
Travel through time with six exceptional female dancers. Witness a noble lady’s graceful baroque dance in the 18th century, and marvel at a famous ballerina and the founder of modern dance in the early 20th century. Be prepared to be moved by the exceptional artistic expressions of two modern Chinese women and a contemporary dancer.
While celebrating women's strength, resilience, and beauty, the powerful performance illuminates women’s different roles throughout history, their long path to freedom and autonomy, and their stellar contributions to dance.
