December 4: Original Musical ‘Love @Winter Solstice’, by Hong Kong Enharmonica
The Winter Solstice is one of the most important festivals for Chinese people.
An original musical created by award-winning composer Shirley Choi, Love @Winter Solstice is an emotional and unforgettable journey. The musical takes us to a small fishing village in Hong Kong, where we will explore a story of love, loss, and redemption. It conveys the power of family, memory, friendship, and what it means to return home.
The story follows the Oi family of fishermen. To give their children a better start in life, Mr and Mrs Oi sold their belongings to send their children to study and work abroad. Over the years, their children have been unable to visit their parents due to various reasons. After Mr Oi’s death, Mrs Oi, who has lost her walking ability and felt lonely.
The Winter Solstice is approaching — will Mrs Oi see the family she so misses this year?
