New Year Woodblock Printmaking Workshop: Calendar

Join us to create your very own floral-themed calendar for 2025 in this woodblock printmaking workshop. Immerse yourself in a traditional artmaking experience that captures the vitality of spring, adding a splash of brightness to the start of the New Year.

 

What you will get from this workshop:

  • Discover History: Learn about the rich symbolism behind various patterns in traditional Chinese culture by delving into the collections of the Palace Museum.
  • Explore Craftsmanship: Explore the historical development, characteristics, and techniques of woodblock printmaking art.
  • Get Creative: Experience woodblock printmaking and freely apply techniques such as collage to create a unique calendar.

Please note:

  • The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. No prior experience is required.
  • Avoid wearing loose clothing since oil-based ink will be used in the workshop.

Age Limit

No prior experience is required, this programme is suitable for age 6 or above. Participants below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each group shall not exceed two people, who will receive one set of materials.

Remarks
  • Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
  • Please arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the workshop begins for registration and admission.

    • If hoisted three hours before the event starts, the event will be suspended. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
    • If hoisted during the event, the event will NOT continue. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

    The Hong Kong Palace Museum reserves the right to reschedule or cancel events with or without refunding participants.
