FAQ

Where can I buy tickets?

On-day tickets will be available at Cityline and the Museum’s ticket office, while stocks last. To ensure the best experience, it is suggested to purchase your tickets online and book a time slot before arrival.

Is there an age limit for entry?

Visitors of all ages are welcome. Please take care of your children and the elderly. Visitors age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Is there a restriction on luggage sizes?

Bags, boxes, and luggage larger than 55  x 35 x 20 cm; long umbrellas, monopods; tripods; folding chairs; and stools are not allowed. For details, please refer to our visitor guidelines.

Can I bring a long umbrella with me?

To protect our exhibits, long umbrellas are not permitted inside the Museum. Short umbrellas must be stored in a bag while visiting the galleries.

Will there be a security check when I arrive at the Museum?

For your safety, a security screening — including x-rays, metal detectors, and body temperature checks — will be conducted before your entry to the Museum.

Can guide dogs enter the Museum?

Visitors with trained guide dogs are welcome in all galleries and facilities, including cafes, restaurants, and the Museum shop.

Will there be guided tours for the public?

Yes. Free guided tours of specific exhibitions are available for individual visitors.

Can I eat or drink in the galleries?

No eating, drinking, or chewing gum is allowed in the galleries.

Can I take photos in the galleries?

Unless specified otherwise, you are welcome to take photos or videos for personal use. Flash photography, tripods, and selfie sticks are prohibited.

Will the Museum be open when a typhoon is forecast?

Do you offer concession tickets?

Concessions include children (age 7 to 11), full-time students, seniors (age 60 and above), persons with disabilities (with one companion), and CSSA recipients.

Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Recipient – Hong Kong Resident Only
  • Notification Letter of Successful Application
  • Certificate of CSSA Recipients (for Medical Waivers)

What is the difference between General Admission Ticket and Special Exhibition Ticket?

With a General Admission ticket, you will have access to our thematic exhibitions (Gallery 1 to Gallery 7). With a Special Exhibition ticket, you will have access to the thematic exhibitions (Gallery 1 to Gallery 7) and special exhibitions (Gallery 8 and Gallery 9).
