Here we have a single-section jade cong-tube, with a plain surface and no segmented divisions or slots. Thirty-three jade cong-tubes and sixteen stone ones were retrieved from the Jinsha site; most were fashioned of material procured locally in Sichuan.
More jade cong-tubes have been found at Jinsha than at Sanxingdui. One explanation is that by the Jinsha period, sources of copper may have decreased, leading to the substitution of bronze figurines with jade cong-tubes as ritual objects.
