A Movable Feast: The Culture of Food and Drink in China

Chinese History, HKPM Exhibition Learning Material
2025

The history of Chinese food culture is rich and extensive. It can be understood through ancient thought and philosophy, cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and the tradition of outdoor dining. Additionally, the enduring influence of ancient Chinese culinary traditions is evident in contemporary tableware and cooking techniques. This learning material is designed to help students explore the uniqueness of Chinese food culture, which has evolved over five thousand years of history.

Special Exhibition: “A Movable Feast: The Culture of Food and Drink in China” (Gallery 8: 18 March – 18 June 2025)

This exhibition is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum. The Robert Chang Art Education Charitable Foundation is the exhibition's Supporting Sponsor.
