The French fashion summer programme “Adorn Your Doll” is now recruiting! During the 18th century, France’s reputation as the world’s fashion capital expanded, leaving a profound impact on other European countries. French fashion houses used fashion dolls to showcase intricate dress designs and hairstyles.

In this workshop, participants will step into the shoes of a little dressmaker from the 18th century. From selecting the fabric to crafting a crinoline, pattern-cutting, and sewing, you will create a glamorous dress for your doll!

This workshop includes:

A brief introduction to western fashion history from the 18th–20th centuries, including the use of crinoline in everyday life and its continued influence on today’s fashion.
A demonstration of French draping by a tailor.
A hands-on session to create a dress on a miniature mannequin.

Please note:

Sharp tools will be used during the workshop.
The programme is offered on two consecutive days: one session in the morning and one in the afternoon each day, making a total of four sessions. Participants are required to attend all four sessions and should make their own lunch arrangements.
No prior experience is required, this programme is suitable for children and youth aged 7–15. Participants below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each group shall not exceed two people, who will receive one set of materials and take home one artwork.

Age Limit
