Follow the cat goddess Bastet into a family overnight museum adventure of the mysterious ancient Egypt!

Guided by Bastet and the ancient Egyptians, participants will explore the culture of ancient Egypt, uncover the fascinating secrets of pyramids and hieroglyphs through engaging traditional Egyptian games and role-playing experience.

Step into this immersive journey where the wonders of ancient Egypt come alive!

What participants will get from this event:

  • Enjoy Exclusive Viewing Time to the Blockbuster Exhibition: Explore the iconic Egyptian exhibits and participate in fun activities guided by ancient Egyptian characters. Enjoy a special family moment in the museum after dark.
  • Explore Ancient Egyptian Architecture and Writing: Learn about Egyptian architectural marvels and hieroglyphs through interactive games to unlock their hidden, intriguing facts.
  • Experience Ancient Egyptian Culture and Customs: Take part in exciting traditional Egyptian games to discover the art, culture and life in ancient Egypt.

6:30 pm–7:15 pm Briefing: Decoding the Code of Ancient Egypt
7:15 pm–10:30 pm Treasure Hunt: Lost in Saqqara and Night Safari in Ancient Egypt (Exclusive Viewing Time)
10:30 pm–11:00 pm Ready to Bed
11:30 pm Good Night, Pharaohs (Lights Out)
3 April 2026 (Friday)
8:00 am–8:30 am Ready to Meet the Sun God Re
8:30 am–9:15 am Breakfast
9:15 am–11:30 am The Nile River Challenge

Please note:

  • This programme is conducted in Cantonese.
  • This programme is designed for children aged 6 to 12 accompanied by an adult.
  • Late-night snacks, breakfast, and light refreshments will be provided. Participants are requested to bring their own water bottle. Please note that food and drink are not allowed inside galleries.
  • No shower facilities are provided at the Museum. Participants should bring any necessary personal items.
  • Essential items to bring include: portable power supply, sleeping pads, sleeping bags, warm clothing (the temperature of the gallery is maintained between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius due to the need for artefact conservation), personal medication, toothbrush and sleeping aids such as earplugs and eye masks. Please note that tents larger than 210 x 210 cm and tent pegs are not permitted inside the Museum.
  • During the event, participants must stay within the Museum premises, adhere to designated areas and follow the scheduled programme.
  • Please arrive at the venue within the specified time for registration and admission.
  • Exhibition Ticketing Arrangement: This registration includes admission to galleries 1–7 and 9 (except those temporarily closed) on Friday 3 April. Participants may continue exploring the galleries after the programme. Successful registrants will receive an email from the Museum at least 3 days prior to the event, confirming information including but not limited to participant details, food allergies and special dietary requirements.
  • HKPM reserves the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice.
  • HKPM reserves the right to cancel the event in case of an insufficient number of participants. Ticket fee will be refunded in full in accordance with the procedures.

Successful registrants may purchase the “Pyramid Paper Folding Kit” and the “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: A Young Explorer’s Guide” via the link provided in the confirmation email.

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will take place as scheduled.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will continue. If it cannot proceed as planned, rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will continue.

Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will be suspended. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
