Family Tour (Art Tech-themed) – Guided Tour and Creative Activities

Bring your children along to a parent-child appreciation programme that blends art-tech with gallery tours and creative activities. Enjoy family fun while learning about Chinese culture together!

What participants will get from this activity:

  • See and Play: Discover the fascinating stories behind the patterns on Chinese artefacts through a guided exploration of "The Ways in Patterns: An Immersive Digital Exhibition from the Palace Museum" and other exhibitions at the HKPM.
  • Touch and Craft: Learn to appreciate Chinese ceramics through replica object handling. Create your own unique viewing frame to find the best composition of the artefacts’ patterns.

*The thematic exhibition “The Ways in Patterns: An Immersive Digital Exhibition from the Palace Museum” is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum, and exclusively sponsored by the Institute of Philanthropy.

 

Please note:

  • Suitable for children aged 6 to 11. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. No additional registration is needed for the accompanying adult. Each group is up to two people, consisting of a child and an accompanying adult.
  • Assembly point: Reception, Palace Academy (LG/F). Please enter the Museum through the Palace Academy (LG/F). For any changes to the arrangement, please refer to the information in the Museum on the day of the event.
  • Please arrive at the assembly point 15 minutes before the event begins for registration and admission.
  • The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event in case of an insufficient number of participants. Ticket fee will be refunded in full in accordance with the procedures.
  • Exhibition Ticket Arrangement: This registration fee includes standard admission tickets for registered adults and children aged 7 to 11. Participants may visit Galleries 1 to 7 on the day of the event (except those temporarily closed). Children aged 6 or below may enter for free.

Adverse Weather Arrangement

Amber or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal / Typhoon Signal No.1 or No. 3

  • If the signal is in force prior to the start of the event, the event will take place as scheduled.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will continue. If it cannot proceed as planned, rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will continue.

Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above

  • If the signal is in force within three hours prior to the start of the event, the event will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.
  • If the signal is hoisted during the event, the event will be suspended. Rescheduling or refund arrangements will be announced in due course.

The Hong Kong Palace Museum reserves the right to reschedule or cancel events with or without refunding participants.
