HKPM Special Exhibition Talk Series: Adorned Bodies on Screen—Fashion as Seen through the Cinematic Lens

Nearly 400 pieces of authentic historical clothing, jewellery, and accessories are meticulously arranged into five sections within the special exhibition “The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris”. Each section features film excerpts showcasing costumes and jewellery from various historical periods. Dr Ingrid Yeung, curator of the exhibition, and the Associate Curator of the HKPM, will discuss how these film excerpts enliven the exhibition and elucidate the historical, social, and cultural significance of fashion.

This talk accompanies the special exhibition “The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770–1910 from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris” on view in Gallery 9 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from 26 June to 14 October 2024. The exhibition is jointly organised by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Cathay is the Travel Partner of the exhibition.
