Copperplate printmaking originates from Europe and refers to the process of creating imagery on a metal plate through techniques such as engraving or acid etching, followed by printing onto paper. Inspired by the copperplate prints from Qing dynasty displayed at the Hong Kong Palace Museum’s thematic exhibition, “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: The Art of Armaments — Qing Dynasty Military Collection from The Palace Museum”, this workshop invites participants to learn about the techniques and development of this significant collection, and to experience the process of printmaking.
