Mrs Wong Pong Chi-ying

Mrs Wong Pong Chi-ying holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese literature from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a master’s degree in Chinese art history from The University of Kansas. Mrs Wong has published novels and essay collections, including The Other Side of the Moon and Beyond Rashomon, in a Bamboo Grove. She later devoted to research in art history and authored Study of Ren Xiong, Woxuezhai Collection of Classical Chinese Paintings, Album after the poems of Yao Damei, and Literary Notes from Panhaiju.

Dr John Yiu

Dr John Yiu is Deputy Director of Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole at the University of Hong Kong. He holds a PhD in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, specialising in the history of Song dynasty painting. His recent publications include “Decorum in Qingming shanghe tu: A Moralized Vision of Northern Song Kaifeng,” Transcribing Wisdom: Jao Tsung-I’s Heart Sutra Calligraphy and the “Wisdom Path,” and Timeless Charm: The Art of Kwan S Wong (co-edited with Mrs Wong Pong Chi Ying).

Dr Wanzhang Zhu

Dr Wanzhang Zhu is a curator at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. He obtained his BA in History from Sun Yat-sen University and his PhD in Art History from the Chinese National Academy of Arts. Dr Zhu has curated numerous exhibitions, including “Bird-and-Flower Paintings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties” and “Figure Paintings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties”. A prolific author, Dr Zhu has published a number of books, such as Outside the Paintings: Notes on Painting and Calligraphy Connoisseurship and Collecting from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Present, Following My Preference: Painting and Calligraphy Connoisseurship and Art History Research, The Portraiture Narratives in Traditional Painting, and In Response to Objects: An Alternative Perspective on Bird-and-Flower Paintings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
