Head

This is the smallest of the bronze heads found at Sanxingdui. Unlike the slightly slanted and elongated eyes commonly found on the bronze human heads, this object has round, bulging eyes similar to the eyeballs on the bronze mask with protruding pupils and the bronze pupils. Scholars assume that these protruding eyes, along with the flared ears with no ear holes, represent a divine beast or other deity at Sanxingdui, distinct from the group of human heads. The two holes on the forehead suggest that it was once attached to another object.
