A Pharaoh’s Rendezvous

Celebrate summer in Egyptian style in answer to the Pharaoh’s enigmatic call. Embark on a magical, multisensory adventure at the museum after dark, where exhibitions, music, dance, dialogue, and scents intertwine. The Pharaoh awaits your presence to unveil the mysteries of ancient Egyptian civilisation.

 

Experience Egypt like never before:

  1. Exclusive Evening Access: Enjoy after-hours entry to the special exhibition “Ancient Egypt Unveiled”, exploring the stories behind highlight objects with our docents on the spot. Explore other selected thematic exhibitions (Galleries 3 and 4) during the event.
  2. Cultural Dialogue:Stories of Ancient Egyptian Civilisation: Archaeology, Culture, and Travel” presented by Bank of China (Hong Kong) – an insider panel discussion revealing the captivating, lesser-known facets of Egypt shared by Rubio Chan (Co-founder, DeWonder Travel), Amjad Refai (Director, Arabic Programme, The University of Hong Kong), and Dr Daisy Wang (Deputy Director and Chief Curator, Hong Kong Palace Museum).
  3. A Feast for the Senses: Dive into Egypt’s charm through live music with cultural crossovers curated by local DJ duo (BEAT FRIDAY), Egyptian dance grooves (Dance Nefertiti), enchanting sounds of harp with its root in ancient Egypt (Harp Blessings), and limited-time handcrafted Egypt-inspired scents, while enjoying authentic Egyptian canapés or upgrade your experience with creative cocktails fusing Egyptian and Chinese flavours.
  4. Themed Experiences: Don your finest attire for unique photo moments alongside pharaohs, deities, and the museum’s beloved “Pharaoh Cat”, before getting lost in the Egyptian pop-up store.
  5. A Surprise Gift: Take home a piece of the magic with a limited-edition Ancient Egypt-themed plush charm blind box.

  • Security checks will be conducted prior to entering the museum. Valid ticket must be presented for admission. Ticket holders may be required to produce identity proof upon admission.
  • Participants must comply with the Museum’s visitor guidelines.
  • Please note that food and drink are not allowed inside galleries.
  • Exhibition Ticketing Arrangement: The event ticket will include access to galleries 3, 4, and 9 during the event.
  • Cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase on site.
  • Ticket holders can redeem one Ancient Egypt Unveiled Plush Bag Charm Blind Box (random style) during the event.
  • During the event, participants must stay within the Museum premises, adhere to designated areas, and follow the scheduled programme.
  • The Hong Kong Palace Museum reserves the right to make changes to the programme without prior notice.

 

This event accompanies the special exhibition “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums”, which is on view in Gallery 9 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from 20 November 2025 to 31 August 2026. The exhibition is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt. It is proudly supported by Bank of China (Hong Kong), the HKPM’s Strategic Partner, with Cathay and UnionPay International as the Major Sponsors.
