Special Exhibition “Ancient Egypt Unveiled” Family Workshop Series

Participants will take the role of an Egyptian architect of pyramids, discovering the evolution of these ancient monumental structures, unveiling hidden chambers, mysterious passages, and many more ancient secrets!

What participants will get from this workshop:

• Explore Pyramids: Get to know the history and construction of pyramids.
• Discover Architecture: Learn about architectural section drawing and its purpose and develop 3D modelling skills through construction of a sectional model.
• Unleash Creativity: Expand imagination through designing an Egyptian pyramid themed marble run.

Please note:

• This workshop is suitable for children aged 6–12. Each group is up to two people, consisting of a child and an accompanying adult. No additional ticket is needed for the accompanying adult. Each child will receive one set of materials and take home one artwork.
• The workshop is open to participants of all skill levels. No prior art making experience is required.
• Glue gun will be used during the workshop.
• The model size for “Discover Pyramid Workshop” is around 60 x 50 x10 cm. Participants are recommended to bring their own bags to take their artwork home.
• The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event in case of an insufficient number of participants. Ticket fee will be refunded in full in accordance with the procedures.

This workshop accompanies the special exhibition “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums”, which is on view in Gallery 9 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from 20 November 2025 to 31 August 2026. The exhibition is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt.
